Assistant Professor, Dr Anindita Banerjee, who passed away on 21st October 2019 met with a gruesome accident while waiting for a bus at bus stand at Durgapur on 06 Oct 2019. Dr Anindita battled for almost two weeks before succumbing to her injuries.
Dr Anindita Banerjee joined SRIMS&SH as faculty member in the Dept of Microbiology on 26 Jul 2019 after completing one-year post master’s residency at Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital Mumbai. During her short tenure as, Assistant Professor in this Institute, she discharged her duties most efficiently with utmost sincerity and commitment in all duties entrusted to her. In addition to her duties as microbiologist, her services were also utilised as member of various committees viz Medical Education Unit, College Curriculum Committee and Hospital Infection Control as both academics and infection control in a hospital set up was very dear to her.
She resided within the campus and in a short period of time befriended all faculty members residing within the campus by her simplicity, friendliness and courteous behavior.
Her departure has left us all very very sad and left a void difficult to fill. This Institute offers heart-felt condolence to her family and friends, and prays to the Almighty that her soul may rest in peace.
