Prof Dr (Col) Tapan Kumar Bhattacharyya, a medical graduate from University of Poona and recipient of gold medal in academics, has done Masters in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. Born at Kolkata on 31 Dec 1953, he changed a number of schools to finally qualify his Indian School Certificate Examination from Mount Hermon School Darjeeling in 1969.

An Academic Fellow of the Indian College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (FICOG), a Fellow of Indian Association of Obstetrician Gynaecologists (FIAOG) and life member to various professional bodies (like IMA, IAGE, AOGI and KOGS), he has served the Armed Forces for more than 31 years in various administrative and professional capacities in small, mid-sized and large medical units as Adjutant, Medical Officer, Graded and Classified Specialist. He also served as Associate and Professor and Head in his discipline at the Armed Forces Medical College and Senior Adviser to the Armed Forces Medical Services. He is credited with starting advanced endoscopic surgery, infertility services and fetal medicine in the Armed Forces including imparting advanced training to service specialists during his tenure as Professor in the Armed Forces Medical College.

He had been recipient of GOC-in-C (WC) award during his service with the Indian Army. He sought retirement on 09 Oct 2008.

He has many publications to his credit in national and international journals and authored few chapters in professional books. After retirement from the Armed Forces, he has served as Professor and Head in a number of private and Government Medical Colleges at Bareilly, Kalyani.Kishanganj and Port Blair. He has been the Principal / Dean and Chief Medical Superintendent of Agartala Government Medical College at Agartala Tripura West and also founder Principal / Dean of IQ City Medical College Durgapur.

Medical Superintendent & Vice Principal

Prof.(Dr) Col Promukh Bhattacharya, a graduate of NRS Medical College (1992) is a postgraduate in Microbiology (2002) from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College Pune. He served in the Armed Forces Medical Services in professional and administrative capacity for 22 years including as Graded and Classified Specialist Pathology at various teaching hospitals. He also served in Level III UN Hospital at Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo as Head of Pathology and Microbiology as a part of MONUSCO (United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission). He has worked as Professor in Microbiology in many recognized Postgraduate Medical Institutions after his voluntary release from the Armed Forces.
His administrative and professional experience shall be of immense benefit to this Institution where he has joined as Professor (Microbiology) and Medical Superintendent Cum Vice Principal.
